  • 0.5 oz vanilla syrup (sub simple)

Unfortunately, my real life precludes me from participating in these live mix-offs, but here is my entry anyway:

Dutch Julep
2 oz. Bols Genever
0.75 oz. Cointreau
0.25 oz. Demerara Simple Syrup
0.25 oz. water
6-8 large mint leaves

Gently muddle 6-8 mint leaves with simple syrup and water in shaker base. Add Genever and Cointreau. Shake with cracked ice for 10 seconds. Strain into Collins glass half filled with crushed ice. Stir with bar spoon. Fill the rest of the glass with more crushed ice and stir again.

Serve with straw and a long mint sprig in glass.
