Beefeater 24 Cocktails

Thursday Drink Night; two lovely chatters typing away on their laptops while drinking new cocktails

Upcoming TDN – Rye Whiskey

We’ve had over 25 Thursday Drink Nights, and we’ve yet to feature one of cocktail’s most important spirits: Rye Whiskey. Paul Clarke must be insanely distressed. Well, this week we’ll make everything better by slinging original rye cocktails and tweaking them to perfection (or as close as we can get). The prize for the best cocktail will be unveiled later this week!

(If you have missed out on the fun so far, check out what Thursday Drink Night is all about.)

Upcoming Mixoloseum Events

  • Rye Whiskey TDN – Thu, May 7, 7pm EST
  • Rum chat with Wayne Curtis – Tue, May 12
  • Rum TDN – Thu, May 14

Beefeater 24 Wrap-Up

The Beefeater 24 TDN brought out all kinds of riff-raff who packed the Mixoloseum chat room and piled into the Quarter Bar in Brooklyn, NY. Some highlights of the evening, for me at least:

  • David Wondrich stepped behind the bar and worked alongside Mixoloseum members and guests to craft original cocktails.
  • Getting to hang out with Greg Boehm, from Mud Puddle Books.
  • Luring people to eat the cookies I brought along – Thomas Keller’s Nutter Butters.
  • Watching Dave peck away feverishly in the chatroom at the end of the night.
  • Getting to share TDN with a host of brand ambassadors who are all fun and cordial.

These drinks make a great line up. The B24 was as the name indicates very refreshing. The Bewitched masters the balance of the bitter and sweet flavors, the Ginger Bushel is definitely keeping it REAL will the 3oz of gin without being overly boozey (although whoever is reading is probably not the best judge of whether something has too much booze). I would also like to add that the Nutter Butter cookie were ridiculously good.

Thanks for a great evening! I’m honored to have my drink featured – and glad to have the recipe easily googleable; I’ll be making that one again.

When heading into the Breach, I’d say I went for a bit less than 1 teaspoon of the Van der Hum tangerine liqueur. (Substitute: Grand Marnier + a bit of your funkiest rum, says Dave W.)

I’m both happy and honored to have my drink featured by the best frends in the world, even though i wasn´t able to attend to what seems to have been a blast;-)
I haven´t been able to try out any of the drinks yet, but i will do.
