TDN Repeal Day

Classic cocktails was the theme last Thursday and we sure didn’t stick to just gin and vermouth. Check out twitter for the whole list of cocktails created during the evening.

Featured Cocktails

Tiaroni

  • 1oz gin
  • 1oz Fernet Branca
  • 1/4oz sweet vermouth
  • 1/4oz orange juice
  • orange twist, for garnish

Shake with hand-crafted ice and strain into a chilled imbibing tube.

Tiare from A Mountain of Crushed Ice

The Black Dutch

  • 2oz genever gin (used Bols)
  • 3/4oz sweet vermouth (used Dolin)
  • 1/4 ounce Strega
  • 1 dash orange bitters (used Regan’s)
  • Chartreuse, to rinse
  • Rinse rocks glass with Chartreuse. Stir with cracked ice and strain into your rocks glass.

Tasty Old Thing

  • 1 1/2oz gin
  • 1 1/2oz Lillet Blanc
  • 1/4oz Aperol
  • 1 dash maraschino liqueur

Stir with restrained brevity and a healthy portion of cracked ice. Strain into a chilled vessel.

Saas Fee

  • 1 1/2oz absinthe
  • 1/2oz Tia Maria/Castries/nut liqueur
  • 1/2oz simple syrup
  • 1t Irish cream

Build delicately in a glass filled with ice. Give it a few flicks of the wrist.

Neal S. Dow (Father of Prohibition)

  • 1c strong black tea (for the TEETOTAL factor)
  • 1oz Fernet Branca
  • 1 dashes of ALL the bitters you have (for his bitter personality)
  • 1/2oz lemon juice for his sour puss

Mix angrily. Sip heartily.
