The sun’s not yet up and already I’m considering the day’s cocktails (insert heckles here). Vanilla’s been on my mind since using it in an 1890’s version of negus that calls for a mere few drops—unless you also know a source for cheap ambergris. That, and I’ve got not only a fistful of vanilla beans in the fridge, but also a bottle of fantastic Mexican stuff my in-laws gave me as well as a bottle of homemade I put up in May. Thanks for the post: now I’ve got more inspiration other than eggnog tweaking.
